Therapy; A Christian's Summer Rain
The courage to embrace yourself, your given pace, and timeline.
Oh my gosh!!! I know, it has been SO long! Forever!
I see some new subscribers here too! Hello and welcome! :’)
How has your summer been? Here in Utah where I live, it’s been a sunny summer with a hint of the chilly, breezy fall season coming throughout the day. It’s been my favorite weather combination—just lovely.
My summer has also been crazy busy with a lot of family coming over and other activity obligations I’m involved with.
And because it’s been crazy busy, I’ve been freaking out a lot only because I am sensitive to a lot of heavy energy surrounding me (caused by my cute brain or others).
Because of this, my anxiety has been through the roof and showing up to nurture my creativity or who I am felt shameful and irrelevant. It also does not help that I have not had therapy in for a couple of months I think, LOL.
I’ve been looking for a therapist as well and when I finally found one to try it felt like arriving to a new country with so much baggage to unpack, organize, and declutter. Therapy with a different therapist also felt like a slow, soothing conversational relief.
My heartfelt message to you today is to give yourself time to grow—without the mindset of comparing yourself with others. To bake an apple pie.
Nurture, nourish, and embrace the pace the Lord has given you. Your life will be different from everyone else and that is okay. The greatest time we can appreciate is the moment we have now—something I have found to be a powerful gift for a recovering anxious perfectionist.
Being open for therapy can be scary and it can take some time to find the right one for you. However, I haven’t been the same since I’ve began therapy and for good reasons. It’s been a couple of years of heavy mental work but I wouldn’t go back for the world.
Therapy can be an unfamiliar thing for many. Like rain in one summer day, it may feel like an opposing combination for Christians…
But I believe that education and receiving knowledge is important to God—and He wants us, His children, to learn about the secular—how our bodies work and function so that we can work with the spiritual inspiration He gives us to live an abundant life with Him.
If not therapy, how would this look like for you?
According to Holly Rossi1,
summer rain can help us release steam (can cool us),
relax us with rhythmic showers,
refresh the wilting parts of nature,
and decompress for a harmonious balance
in the atmosphere’s breath.
Run into the summer rain and trust in His showers to heal your wilting parts.
Your pace is seen, loved, and enough to your Heavenly Father.
Where you are and who you are now is enough.
You’re such an inspiration ,sweet, and full of love within you. I can feel your thoughts thru your writings😍thank you and love you so much🙋🏻♀️
