🍓 Spiritual Snacks For Thought
I started my social media fast last night through prayer and I already notice how much my brain craves for media comfort whenever I feel bored or stressed, LOL. 🫠
During this fast, I’ve been thinking about something that has been shaking me quite a bit lately.
There has been so much noise in social media about politics…and it’s really difficult to see how many people are being affected from the hurt, shame, and harsh circumstances many individuals are going through.
The contention is creating a lot of strain in many relationships, even Christian communities. And yes, sadly, I’m not just talking about politics now.
I want to carefully share my observation that could totally be inaccurate for you (and that’s okay)—for many reasons that only God would completely understand, my observation has been this:
there is an increasing number of believers leaving faith communities to find another faith, while also holding tightly to their pride of disrespecting and shamefully disproving other Christian faiths. And some ultimately leave their faith system altogether, not wanting anything to do with divine intervention whatsoever. I can think of many other heartbreaking situations that I won’t elaborate on here... (I hope you know I’m not trying to point fingers or judge anyone here #respect)
For a couple of days, I keep asking myself and wonder why this is happening. I feel like I’m in a deserted island and feeling left out from these curious epiphanies and wavelengths. “Why is everyone leaving? Why do I feel rejected? Is there something I don’t know that I should know? Why don’t I just leave too?”
And then a soft strike came into my heart and mind asking me,
“Why do you stay with Me?”
A flood of many experiences with God came to me after asking myself this question—and I plan to ponder on it more this week on my fast.
I happily extend the same invitation to you!!
So I ask you! Why do you stay with Jesus?

Your work is desperately needed here. Welcome, welcome friend!! 🌿
Such a great and inspiring question! And it is sad to see so many feeling that that they have to leave the fellowship and camaraderie of their church and/or congregation to find peace. As such this question is not only one that calls upon the mind to draw from the well of wisdom, but one that reaches into the sacred soil of the soul—a seed of reminding more than question. And that seed of reminding (not reprimanding) you shared is quite telling. Why do we stay with Jesus? Is it truly because we have no one else to turn to? Or is it because we realize that while there are others to turn to, no one can truly understand and stand beside us as mercifully and compassionately as Him? The apostles knew this truth (John 6:68) and so will we know this truth as we turn to Him in all things, all times and all circumstances in our lives. And may I add one more truth…for some may question why He stays with us even when we stray or leave Him? For the same reason! There is no other you for Him to love and be with! Out of all possible combinations in creation, there is only one YOU! And because He loves you, He will never leave or forsake you…no matter what (Deuteronomy 31:6, Hebrew 13:5). Thank you again for your inspired writings! Keep letting your light so shine!
