Hello again, my very patient friends!! 😭
I know, where have I been?! How dare me?!
These past two weeks, the only thing my brain could handle was posting on Notes (if I could even remember to…🫠) Juggling my new part-time job and understanding where my creative personality (amongst many other things) would go into this new phase of life was quite the journey. But I am so grateful for it because I have felt the Lord move me to prepare this podcast for all of you. This process (for the past two weeks🥹) meant changing, simplifying, and centering Oak & Bower on Jesus Christ more—
it meant making Psalms of the Heart.
I’ve been wanting to do a podcast (and specifically, sharing a podcast experience with some friends of mine)…it started with this quote from President Nelson—
We need women who have a bedrock understanding of the doctrine of Christ and who will use that understanding to teach and help raise a sin-resistant generation.
We need women who can detect deception in all of its forms.
We need women who know how to access the power that God makes available to covenant keepers and who express their beliefs with confidence and charity.
We need women who have the courage and vision of our Mother Eve.
My dear sisters, nothing is more crucial to your eternal life than your own conversion. It is converted, covenant-keeping women—women like my dear wife Wendy—whose righteous lives will increasingly stand out in a deteriorating world and who will thus be seen as different and distinct in the happiest of ways.
President Nelson has said this quote about women in many different forms for a couple of years now and it always stirs my soul. This year I felt it even stronger! I know creating this podcast can bring such a unique and valuable addition to our gospel study. We’re hoping to make this a monthly rhythm.
Shoutout to my lovely friend, Leah!! Thank you for joining me in this beautiful discussion. You’re amazing. 🤍
So, welcome to my new delight, ✨
I hope you enjoy what the Lord told me to create for you,
Psalms of the Heart
where songs of the heart meet the doctrine of Christ.
Press play and listen to what it’s all about. 🕊️🎶
All my love,
Jae 🌿
