Do not fear, God is near
Sometimes, a thing that doesn't work out is a preparation for us to see something else that God already worked out FOR us.
I felt impressed to share how much the Lord understands our fears. Jesus Christ understands what we fear, why we fear, and the hows that surround it.
This past month, I thought a lot about my own fears. Most of which started with "Well, but... what if?" These fears came up in form of day-to-day conversations. Almost like fear is a natural and subtle part of how we interact with others through words and even without. We think about millions of things a day, and anxiety turns these thoughts into some fearful creature - like a real thing.
A tangible, grand kind of real. Our minds strongly hold onto them and subconsciously, we believe some, if not, all of them.
Just as Hope can come from inspiration, so can fear.
But because God exists, Truth demands to be known. Without preaching or extreme exertion in proving Grace exists, His countless creations stay still to testify that there is refuge in Him. The air we breathe, the natural response of the body to awake with the Sun.
So I thought and I stared blankly. It's something to do after reading to my five-year-old nephew - a children’s book more profound than it may possibly credit itself to be. Below was a quote that struck me.
“You see,” said Papa,
“a shadow is what happens when something gets in the way of a light.”
— Berenstain Bears
Then I thought—
for the many times my righteous desires didn’t work out,
the moments my prayers were said just to tell Him what I want,
the things I’ve done to justify something that I deeply desired to stay with me,
the times I proved and showed God that the plan that I had for myself wouldn’t be so bad,
that my plan could work out in the long run,
that maybe, just maybe,
if I showed Him just how much I loved that specific thing so dearly,
He could let it all happen, He would help it to happen.
And honestly, He has the power to do so.
Well, I learned that faith in Jesus Christ is not based on results. Faith in Jesus Christ is a relationship between Him and ourselves. Because God loves us so much, He gave us His Only Begotten, Beloved Son to show us the way to lasting happiness in this life and the life to come.
Faith is not based on what we want to happen, but to trust that whatever does happen, the Lord knows best.
God is always eager and more than willing to help us, even if it doesn’t look like how we pictured it.
My husband shared once,
”Faith in the Lord came before any miracle was born.”
Like water to wine,
Under the authority of the Father,
Jesus Christ has the POWER to transform us into something better than we were before. He can make more of us, just as much as He can create MORE with the lives that He gave us.
This is my testimony,
that YOU have the ability to reach Jesus,
and as you do,
you will come to feel just as I have felt,
that He reaches your reaching,
He will come to you,
comfort you,
and cry with you,
for this is His promise.
Our plans seem so much safer. It is hard to let go and reach into God's bigger, better plan.🙄 Good words, Jae.
